Course Description

- Implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - Climate Governance - ESG Reporting

Finalised in May 2024, the Climate Action Plan (CAP24) builds upon the previous years’ plans to address current needs and goals. The updated CAP24 mandates that all senior management complete climate action leadership training. The leadership role of the Public Sector was clearly defined inCAP23 as a critical piece of successful climate action. This one day course will fulfil the CAP24 requirement for senior level management by covering topics such as innovative technologies assisting climate action, EU and Irish climate legislation, successful ESG reporting and effective strategies for implementing the CAP24 mandate.

Developing a Climate Action Strategy
  • Design and implement climate action plans effectively for all levels of organisations
  • Prioritising Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Initiatives to prioritise for Ireland: renewable energy, sustainable transport, circular economy, agriculture, biodiversity, coastal erosion
  • Identifying stakeholders, target setting, measuring progress
Interactive Session
  • Draft a mini organisational action plan for climate leadership for your organisation or a chosen community over the next 6 months
  • Setting measurable goals, identifying resources, clarifying next steps
Communication and ESG Reporting
  • Effective communication strategies for climate change – tone, messaging, audience engagement
  • Techniques for inspiring communities and organisations
  • Role of social media traditional media and public speaking in climate advocacy

Certification

On completion of this one-day training course, you will receive your Certificate of Attendance. Please note certificates are issued at the close of the training course to participants on completion of the course.

Cost
