This informative one-day course will look at the key legislation relating to Wastewater Treatment, including the Water Framework Directive and the EC Environmental Objectives (Groundwater) Regulations 2010. We will examine primary treatment and secondary treatment. Including key design equations, fixed and suspended growth processes, and the most common problems and solutions associated with this treatment.
We will also examine tertiary (advanced)treatment for further nutrient removal. We will study key concepts of denitrification and phosphorus, chemical and biological removal. We will then look at sludge treatment technologies, energy production from wastewater, and common problems and solutions
