Course Description

Public Sector law, also known as administrative law, sets out the framework within which public sector bodies must operate, ensuring decisions are legal, reasonable and fair. A clear understanding of the core legal principles that govern public administration and the delivery of public services is essential for all public servants, particularly when facing potential legal challenges.

This course will provide practical and interactive overview of public sector law in Ireland, with a strong focus on judicial review, public contracts and legislative powers. Participants will explore the core principles of fair procedures, while examining real-life case studies that highlight how litigation can arise and, importantly, how it can be avoided.
