Fionna O’Regan is a practising barrister with a broad civil practice generally, and with a particular interest in planning and environmental matters. Fionna presents regularly on planning/environmental issues. She is currently advising a State Agency on the Habitats Directive and Appropriate Assessment in the context of the robustness of decisions in Judicial Review and staff training. Fionna is a member of the Planning, Environment and Local Government Bar Association, the Climate Bar Association, and the Irish Centre for European Law. Fionna previously practiced as a civil engineer specialising in planning and environment consultancy and in the application of EU environmental law in particular. She also served as a member of the Board of An Bord Pleanála from 2011 – 2017 where she frequently took carriage of cases requiring decisions under EU environmental Directives.
