Course Description

This one-day course will cover the essential rules on moving goods and services across international boundaries, post-Brexit. We will discuss the new implications for sellers and traders, will clarify important VAT and customs duties issues, where the exceptions lie, and how to complete the VAT return. We will look at new critical areas such as postponed VAT accounting and where it applies, trading under the new EU e-commerce directive, and important administrative requirements you need to be aware of.

If you are unsure of your obligations regarding trading, VAT and customs post-Brexit, this course can prove invaluable.   • Preferential and non-preferential treatment and effects on Customs charges
  • Temporary and permanent imports and exports - VAT and duty implications
  • International VAT - goods and services
  • Import VAT and duties -postponed VAT accounting, duty deferment accounts, relief schemes
  • Exporting goods - Zero rating, time of supply, proof of export for VAT purposes
  • Other VAT and Customs Duties issues, including UK-NI-IE-NI-UK and NI-UK-NI and the Windsor Framework
  • General service rules forB2B and B2C and exceptions telecoms, broadcasting and electronics
  • How to read/understand a SAD declaration for accounting purposes
  • ROS - completing the VAT Return, topping up the TAN account and the UCC Customs Portal

Who Should Attend

This course will be of benefit to accountants and other professionals who must deal with, or advise on, VAT aspects of cross-border transactions. Since the UK has left the EU, they will also need to recognise that Customs Duties are much more important, so they will also benefit from an update on Customs Duties and how they interact with VAT.

Certification

On completion of this one-day training course, you will receive your Certificate of Attendance. Please note certificates are issued at the close of the training course to participants on completion of the course.
